Slump Buster Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska~

This year, Grif's baseball team decided to go to Omaha and participate in the Slump Buster Tournament. It was really fun because the College World Series was going on the same week we were there. We had a great time and the kids played some GREAT baseball! HitStreak ended up taking first place in their age group! We were so proud of them! They brought home the hardware and made a lot of good memories while they were at it!

Mom, Grif and Boston were the only ones who could go so the three of us drove out to Omaha on a Thursday, played 7 games in three days and drove back Sunday afternoon! It takes about 8 hours to get there so we made sure we showed our team spirit all the way there and back! We painted our windows on our car to let everyone know that we meant business!!

They had a big "Slump Buster Festival" on Saturday night while we were there. There were "bouncey houses", games, and a whole lot of pin trading going on! We took about 50 pins per player and traded them with all the different players from different parts of the country. It was really cool to meet players from all different places.

Boston had a ball at the festivities! He is so good to follow his brothers around to all their games! Hopefully, that will pay off and he will be a good athlete too!

The team had a great time swimming in the pool after games... It is a great group of boys with awesome parents so that makes it all the more fun for the grown-ups too! Our coaches have done a phenomenal job with the boys this year and we have really learned a lot. Thanks for a great trip and an awesome season! Go HitStreak!

GREAT JOB Grif!!! Jeni, we were going to go to Omaha, but decided to do Steamboat instead. We leave on Monday. So excited! Even though the Givens (Luke) moved, they are meeting us there. So, Max made the Hit Streak Fall team (no football this year) and our Rockers team is going to do Hit Streak next year. Isn't this baseball stuff so much fun? Maybe we'll run into you at Hit Streak! Miss you.
