Pretty scary picture, huh? Ya.... well, try this on for size: I was upstairs, minding my own business getting dinner ready when up from the basement comes THIS THING!! Totally freaked me out! "Mr. Festive", as I like to call Brian, (sarcastic because he refuses to dress up each year!) decided to whip up a costume 30 minutes before "trick or treat" started! I have dressed up every year for the past 6 years BUT this year, I was tired of being the only adult in our family in costume. So of course, this year, I didn't get a costume and had no intention of dressing up. Maybe Brian just wanted to get a little attention this year! With me not dressing up, everyone could focus on him... the "skelton-faced, poncho-wearing (??), hot pink wig-wearing mad man! It was a pretty random costume.... but it STILL freaked me out!
Boston was the Bumblebee Transformer... looked so cute! And Grif decided to be a Weber High cheerleader! (Go Warriors!) You can't really tell but he even has makeup on! You know what is the scariest thing about HIS costume??? My skirt FIT him! And he is only 11 years old!!! AHHH!! That makes me ill! That skirt fit me during my senior year of high school! What the H happened to my waistline????!!! Oh well, this is Grif with his friends Dillon, Brett and Jackson. They had a blast this year and thankfully the weather was good. They made a haul!
I was a little sad that Pade is getting too old to dress up.... it's the first year he hasn't ever been all decked out! But, he hung with his friends and still had a good time. As a matter of fact, I went to answer the doorbell during trick or treat time and there was Pade and 6 of his friends.... they all had their heads bowed, looking down at the ground, then all of the sudden, they all burst out singing Journey's "Just a small town girl... living in a lonely world, she took the midnight train goin' anywhere!" They had worked out parts and percussion, thanks to some rap skills, and it was hilarious! They figured since they were too old to ask for candy, they'd have to sing for it! I thought it was awesome and VERY creative! So I sent them over to my neighbors and she too loved it! They all came back with handfuls of candy! It was funny!
Brian stole these glasses from one of Grif's friends- Wow... two costumes in one night! Go Bri!
Hope you all had a great Halloween!

Go Rhees's! Happy Halloween! We, too, had a hard time believing that Bri actually dressed up. We didn't recognize him...thought it was Pade. By the way, we would have liked to have heard that song. Maybe in 9 months Paden and his friends will have a desire to "bring back" the mem! Go cheerleader Grif (TDM) and the Bumblebee Transformer (pretty creative)!
Love,
Grandpa SoJo
I'm dying at Bri right now. Costumes like that are the reason I don't like Halloween! Totally freaky! Oooo! I love that Pade and friends sang for treats. In fact, when I have kids come for trick-or-treating that aren't dressed up, I tell them they either have to sing or dance for a treat. I mean, c'mon no costume? You gotta have a trick up your sleeve right? loves, Jes
