Paden and Grif both started their basketball seasons in November. Paden was fortunate enough to make the Freshmen basketball team at Castle View High School. He was really excited and has played 5 games already. They are 2-3 right now but he is getting some playing time and seems to enjoy it. It is so nice to have him experience sports on a high school level. He is learning some great skills about team work, hard work and perseverance. Each week they "earn" a spot on the starting 5 and it has been good to challenge him and make him work hard. There are some GREAT players on the team and 5 of his best friends are playing as well. It is crazy to see some of these freshmen and sophomore boys... they are HUGE! Pade is one of the smallest but we're hoping he hits his growth spurt soon! :) They practice 6 days a week and all through the holidays! YUCK! But he has worked hard and learned to budget his time. He had a great first semester in high school with 5 A's and 2 B's. He is also attending early morning seminary which is a challenge for BOTH of us to get up that early and get out the door! He's definitely tired after long days at school, basketball practice and plenty of homework! We are proud of him and glad he is part of a "team"! Go Sabercats!!! (He is #1 in the pic below!)
Grif is playing "Dolphin" Basketball again this year. He is on the same team he's been on for the past 5 years with one exception: His Dad is now the assistant coach! He is really enjoying that! He has been asking for 4 years when Bri was going to be able to coach HIM, instead of Paden and because Paden has "aged out" of league basketball, Brian isn't coaching him anymore so he was able to help Grif's coach. They have a pretty good little team... they are undefeated right now so their record is 3-0. Grif continues to bring the ball up as point guard, has a great-lookin' shot and is a good leader. He is #23 and the one shooting the free throw in the picture above.) We are loving watching him play this year! Keep it up Grif... and Go Dolphins!
Stay tuned.... Bos-man starts his basketball practices this week with his first game on the 15th. I'll get some pictures of him playing soon... He's really excited to start!! Yeah, our calendar is WAY full with practices and games but you know me.... it's what I love best!!

Jen, I am so excited for Paden! I cannot believe he is so old!
Yay for basketball season. I'd so much rather have a b-ball game on TV than a football one! Love that Pade is playing on the Freshie team. That is so awesome. 3 different basketball schedules! Wow, it will be a wild season. Love it!--Jes
